Bird-Flipping Cyclist Suing Employer After ‘Fear'-Based Firing (Corrected)

The cyclist who infamously flipped off President Donald Trump’s motorcade last October is suing her former employer, saying the government contractor violated Virginia public policy when it fired her over fears of government retaliation.

Juli Briskman was employed by Akima LLC in Herndon, Va., from April 2017 until her forced resignation on Oct. 31, 2017. The picture that led to her firing was snapped on a Saturday morning while she was off duty, a fact central to her complaint.

Akima’s parent company, Nana Regional Corp., held $747.3 million in federal contracts for fiscal year 2017, according to Bloomberg data. The...
