A federal district court in Missouri didn’t err in granting summary judgment to United Parcel Service, Inc. on a black employee’s claim that he was demoted from a district labor manager position because of his race, instead of for performance-related issues. The Eighth Circuit reasoned that he failed to show that he was treated differently than any non-black managers under similar circumstances because he admitted that he was the only labor manager in his conference and stated that he belonged to a “class of one,” his alleged comparators were his replacements, and he didn’t provide evidence that they also had...
