Case: Individual Employment Rights/Wrongful Discharge (Cal. App. 4th Dist.)

An employee of a real estate services firm sufficiently supported his claim that he was discharged for reporting on alleged fraud regarding a forged document. The trial court erred in granting a partial JNOV motion against him, the court said, but he must still face a new trial. The court also ordered a new trial on damages as to his defamation cause of action, which would have been decided differently if not for an erroneous question on the verdict form, the court found.
