Dick’s Sporting Goods $2.9 Million Wage Deal Gets Final Approval

A $2.9 million settlement between Dick’s Sporting Goods and California retail workers won a federal judge’s final approval, ending protracted class litigation over apparel costs and mandatory, off-the-clock security checks.

More than 10,000 class members will split about $1.65 million, with each expected to receive an average payment of $155. Class counsel will get nearly $966,670 in attorneys’ fees and $200,000 in expenses.

The total amount represents about 17% of the class’s potential recovery, Judge Kimberly J. Mueller said in the final approval order entered Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
