Immigrant Biometrics Expansion Under Final White House Review

The Department of Homeland Security has submitted the final version of a rule that would expand the types of biometric data it collects from visa and immigration benefit applicants, and who must submit that personal information, to the White House’s regulatory office for review.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs received the new regulation (RIN: 1615-AC14) on Tuesday, according to a posting on its website, and its review is generally the last step before the rule is published.
