Iranians No Longer Eligible for Trade, Investor Visas: Agency

Iranian nationals will no longer be eligible for treaty-based nonimmigrant visas provided to individuals for trade or investment purposes, and Iranians currently in the U.S. on the basis of such visas won’t be able to extend them, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Wednesday.

The E-1 treaty trader and E-2 treaty investor visas are available to foreign nationals to come to the U.S. to conduct trade or to develop and direct an enterprise in which they have invested or in which they are in the process of investing.
