Judge Denies Ex-Worker’s Request to Remand Biometric Privacy Claim

The former employee of a security services company lost his bid to remand one of his biometric privacy claims to state court.

Plaintiff Chris Kalb’s claim against Gardaworld Cashlink LLC meets the “injury in fact” threshold for Article III standing, meaning it will be handled in federal court, Judge Joe Billy McDade wrote in an opinion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Kalb’s counsel didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
