Labor Board Gets Some Competition for Union Business

Going to the National Labor Relations Board used to be the obvious choice for workers trying to form a union. But the search for a speedier and less contentious approach to organizing has some labor leaders looking elsewhere.

One option: using a third-party service like the American Arbitration Association.

The AAA has seen an increase in the past five years in requests to handle representation elections, Ken Egger, the organization’s national vice president, told Bloomberg Law. He expects that growth to continue.
