Employment lawyers gathered for an American Bar Association conference, but the Labor Department’s political leadership was conspicuously absent.
“There’s a long-standing tradition that the Department of Labor would always send people,” David Borgen, a worker-side attorney with Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian & Ho in Oakland, Calif., told Bloomberg Law Feb. 23. “We really think it’s fruitful and helpful because these are the leaders of the private bar on both sides,” he said, referring to conference attendees who represent workers and management. “We want warm relations and good communications with the department.”
