Manpower Recruiter to Get Customer-Preference Retaliation Trial

Manpower US Inc. may have retaliated against a recruiter by moving him to a different account after he complained of client Exxon’s alleged preference for white staffing candidates only, the Eastern District of Wisconsin ruled.

Alex Pollock says the transfer amounted to a demotion because it resulted in a loss of pay, and Manpower didn’t present enough evidence to fully rebut that allegation, the court said Nov. 18. The company also admitted for purposes of summary judgment that it removed Pollock from the Exxon account because of his complaint, the court said.
