New York Casino Workers’ Wages Double
Immediately With Labor Arbitrator’s Decision

An arbitrator’s decision has doubled the average hourly wages of 1,375 casino employees in New York City, a ruling the union said Oct. 30 is life-changing for the workers and a breakthrough that will set the standard for gaming jobs in the state.

Under the first contract the New York Hotel Trades Council negotiated for employees of Resorts World Casino New York City, workers previously earning poverty-level wages saw their hourly pay double effective Oct. 18, moving them into the middle class, and will receive annual wage increases in each year of the agreement that will nearly triple their wages...
