Top Tootsie Roll VP Says Mental Health Bias Forcing Him Out

Tootsie Roll Industries Inc. has prevented its vice president of physical distribution from returning to his job following medical leave for bipolar disorder and required him to instead take long-term disability benefits, a new federal lawsuit in Chicago alleges.

John Majors says he knew his career at the company would be over when Tootsie Roll chairwoman and CEO Ellen Rubin Gordon learned of his mental illness.
