TSA Worker Couldn’t Appeal Bias Claim Dismissal, 9th Cir. Says

A former TSA employee can’t pursue her appeal of the dismissal of her disability bias claim at the Ninth Circuit because the court lacks jurisdiction, it said Wednesday.

A final judgment addressing all claims in a case generally is needed before a party may appeal to avoid entangling the circuit courts in piecemeal appeals, the court said. But Anna Galaza dropped her sex and race bias claims without prejudice without involving the district court, and her retaliation claim was never formally dismissed, it said.
