Union Sues Labor Agency Over Rule That May Trim Public Jobs (1)

A politically powerful public-sector union sued the Trump administration to block a newly finalized regulation that allows states to use federal funds to pay private companies to administer employment services for jobless workers.

The 1.4-million-member American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees filed suit Thursday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, asking a judge to declare the final rule invalid. The union is seeking relief on behalf of its members who are employed in various state employment agencies.
