Veterans Employment Program Not Subject to DOL Bias Audits

The Labor Department won’t audit participants in the Defense Department’s SkillBridge program for compliance with workplace anti-bias requirements, the agency said in a Nov. 8 opinion letter.

Participants in SkillBridge, a veterans’ workforce training course, are signing contract with the federal government that’s akin to a cooperative agreement, according to the DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. Those aren’t procurement contracts that fall under the agency’s authority, it said.
