Le Maire: France Wants Global Minimum Tax Rate of 12.5%

France will push for a global minimum tax rate of 12.5% to combat tax evasion and optimization, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire says.

  • “We propose 12.5% as a minimum corporate tax rate,” he says at OECD in Paris. “12.5% is a good starting point and a good reference point”
  • Says the OECD has responded to U.S. concerns on digital tax and there is “no reason” for every country not to agree
