Dec. 3, 2019, 6:20 PM

Hungary will launch a pilot system for exchanging accounting information between companies and the country’s tax authority.

  • The pilot is expected to begin early next year and involve about 40 companies, a spokesperson for the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary said in a Dec. 3 email.
  • The tax administration released Dec. 2 technical documentation for the standard audit file for tax (SAF-T) and invited the public to comment.
  • The SAF-T standardizes data collection between companies and tax authorities or external auditors to help speed up tax audits.
