IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig said he doesn’t think the tax-filing season deadline needs to be extended beyond April 15, warning that doing so could confuse taxpayers.
Several Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee, led by Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.), recently asked the IRS to consider an extension, noting that the IRS is still processing millions of returns from last year.
