United Urged by Democrats to Drop Catering Outsourcing Plan

Senate Democrats are asking United Airlines to drop a plan to outsource 2,500 catering jobs because it received in stimulus payments that were conditional on the keeping workers employed through the pandemic.

  • In a letter dated Tuesday, senators led by Mazie Hirono of Hawaii asked CEO Scott Kirby to respond to questions about the plan, which would affect workers in Cleveland, Denver, Honolulu, Houston and in Newark, New Jersey
