Asphalt Maker, EPA Limit Future Development at Former Lead Mine

The EPA and an asphalt company agreed to lock down a Missouri lead-contaminated soil dump to prevent future development in a proposed consent decree in federal district court.

Delta Asphalt Inc. owns a contaminated property that is part of the Madison County Mines Superfund site. The company and the Environmental Protection Agency proposed land use restrictions in a consent decree in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
