The Canadian government is angling to join a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s recent restrictions on imported solar cells and modules.

Canada asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to let it act in an advisory role (amicus curiae) in a case brought by Canadian solar product manufacturers and U.S. importers to challenge the “global safeguard” trade restrictions on imported solar products from around the globe.

The court has yet to rule on whether to grant Canada’s request.
