Chamber of Commerce Wants Exxon Climate Case Out of State Courts

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urged the Tenth Circuit to rule in favor of Exxon Mobil Corp. and other energy companies that say litigation from local governments seeking to hold them accountable for the effects of climate change belongs in federal courts.

In a Nov. 25 brief to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the world’s largest business federation argued that a lawsuit brought by Boulder, Boulder County, and San Miguel County involves issues that are “by definition a national and international problem” requiring a uniform response.
