Columbia Study Impedes Major Pesticide Ban, EPA Claims

The EPA has its hands tied in any decision to restrict a popular pesticide linked to neurological delays in children exposed to it, the agency said in response to an Aug. 9 court order to ban chlorpyrifos.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to cancel all uses of the insecticide chlorpyrifos within 60 days.
