Conservation Groups to Defend Boiler Efficiency Standards (1)

Environmental, consumer, and public housing groups are seeking to intervene in support of the Department of Energy’s efficiency standards for commercial boilers that are being challenged by industry associations, according to a new filing in a Washington federal court.

The American Public Gas Association and Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute argue in their consolidated lawsuits that the department’s rule would be an undue burden on boiler manufacturers and consumers. The rule was set to go into effect in March.
