Three environmental advocacy groups want a federal appeals court to resurrect EPA limits on methane emissions from landfills.
The Natural Resources Defense Council, Clean Air Council, and Clean Wisconsin, are challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to halt enforcement of the landfill methane regulation for 90 days. The agency said it wanted to pause implementation while it weighed possible changes to the rule, which was enacted during the Obama administration as a part of its Climate Action Plan (Nat. Res. Def. Council v. Pruitt, D.C. Cir., No. 17-1157, 6/15/17).
