Energy Storage May Offer Savings to Massachusetts Consumers: Report

The addition of energy storage to the Massachusetts energy portfolio could reap hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings for ratepayers, shave the impacts of peak demand on the state’s energy infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions by better integrating renewable resources into Massachusetts’ energy infrastructure, according to a report released by Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R).

The report, commissioned by the administration as part of its energy storage initiative and issued Sept. 16, details the technology’s potential to reduce costs and assist the region in meeting its demand for energy.
