Environment Panel Gears Up Two Mammoth Water Bills (1)

The top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Tuesday unveiled two mammoth water bills—one to help improve drinking water, the other to reauthorize funding of water projects—in hopes of moving both toward passage before the end of the year.

The draft water bills, America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2020 and the Drinking Water Infrastructure Act of 2020, are expected to draw bipartisan support as they benefit water treatment and other projects in towns located in virtually every congressional district.
