Environmental Groups Tossed From Montana Mine Expansion Lawsuit

Three environmental groups must be dismissed from a lawsuit against a Montana mine expansion because they failed to properly allege an injury, a federal court in the state said in a ruling dismissing them from the case.

Sierra Club, Indian People’s Action, and 350 Montana said the challenged actions in the lawsuit cause “economic, professional, recreational, and aesthetic harm,” but that statement simply recites the legal requirement for standing, the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana said Wednesday.
