EPA Delays of Farmworker Pesticide Training Rule Deemed Illegal (1)

The EPA wrongly delayed an Obama administration rule to tighten training requirements for farmworkers working with toxic pesticides according to a federal court.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled March 21 the agency violated the Administrative Procedure Act when it repeatedly moved back the effective date of a regulation to update the Certification of Pesticide Applicators rule. The rule was finalized two weeks before President Barack Obama left office and the Trump administration has delayed it three times.
