The European Union is seeking compensation stemming from the Trump administration’s tariffs on imports of solar cells and modules, according to a Feb. 7 World Trade Organization filing.
The EU said it has a “substantial interest” as an exporter in the case and as such is requesting consultations with the U.S. under the terms of the WTO safeguards agreement.
The 28-nation bloc is home to solar manufacturers like Recom AG, SolarWorld, and Conergy.
