Mexico to File Fraud Complaints Against Energy Firms, AMLO Says

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador promised to file complaints against energy companies that he said committed fraud in obtaining electricity contracts in the country.

In a Tuesday press conference, the president alleged that some contracts secured by companies during past administrations had been fraudulent and had resulted in high prices charged to the state utility. It wasn’t clear which contracts or companies he referred to, or whether the complaints would name anyone specifically.
