Recycling Company Agrees to Limit Pollution at California Site

Electronic waste recycling company Metech Recycling Inc. will pay $20,000 and develop best management practices to reduce or eliminate water pollution from its California facility, according to a settlement filed in a federal court in the state.

California Sportfishing Protection Alliance said water tested near the company’s Gilroy, Calif., facility showed high levels of pollutants known to adversely impact the environment. The company had failed to collect sufficient storm water samples since at least 2015, the group told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
