U.S. Energy Jobs Grew by 5 Percent in 2016, Government Says

U.S. energy and energy-efficiency jobs grew by more than 300,000 last year, up 5 percent, the Energy Department said Jan 13.

Those jobs accounted for 14 percent of all new jobs created in the U.S. in 2016, the department said in its second annual energy jobs and employment report.

The report highlights the number of new jobs added in four different energy job sectors: electric power generation and fuels; transmission, distribution and storage; energy efficiency; and motor vehicles.
