Abbott Must Face Ex-Employee’s Retaliation Claims

Abbott Laboratories Inc. must respond to a former employee’s False Claims Act complaint alleging it fired her because she complained about the company’s promotion of its drug-eluting stents, Absorb and Xience (Elliott-Lewis v. Abbott Labs., Inc., 2017 BL 151502, D. Mass., 14-cv-13155, 5/5/17).

Abbott Vascular fired Ebonia Elliott-Lewis, a medical science liaison, in May 2014. Elliott-Lewis sued Abbott, claiming she was fired because of her reporting and objecting to Abbott’s alleged illegal marketing of the two products.
