Louisiana Physician’s Rights Not Violated by Loss of Privileges

Louisiana’s Thibodaux Regional Medical Center didn’t violate an obstetrician’s due process or equal protection rights when it suspended and later refused to renew his privileges to practice there, a federal court in the state said.

Obstetrician Natchez Morice failed to convince the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana to reconsider the constitutional claims it previously dismissed. Morice merely reiterated earlier arguments and didn’t demonstrate the court’s December decision rested on a manifest error or led to manifest injustice, the court said Thursday.
