Parents Sue Connecticut Education Officials Over New Vaccine Law

A group of parents and religious freedom organizations are suing Connecticut education officials in federal court to invalidate a new state law that requires preschool children to be vaccinated, even if doing so is contrary to the parents’ religious beliefs.

We the Patriots USA Inc., CT Freedom Alliance Inc., and several parents filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut alleging the new law violates the parents’ constitutional rights to free exercise of religion, privacy and medical freedom, equal protection, and parental autonomy. It also alleges violations of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act.
