TikTok’s $92 Million Privacy Deal Delayed As Some Users Object

An Illinois federal court delayed approval for a proposed $92 million settlement between TikTok Inc. and consumers, claiming privacy violations after some of the app’s users objected to the deal.

The settlement will be considered for preliminary approval at an April 19 hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, according to the Monday court filing. The hearing was to be held Tuesday, but almost 1,000 of the consumers involved in the class action are seeking, instead, to resolve their claims out of court through arbitration.
