North Dakota Contractor Hit With $455K in Fines Over Trench Hazards

Kamphuis Pipeline Co. is facing $455,000 in proposed fines for trenching and other hazards at a project site in North Dakota, OSHA said April 18.

The proposed fine against Kamphuis is three times greater than the largest previous fine that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued in North Dakota in 2015. Scott Allen, an OSHA spokesman, told Bloomberg Environment he was unable to offer any additional information that would help explain the strikingly high fines imposed on Kamphuis.
