Jordanian Prisoner Wins Revival of Blocked-Mail Claims

An attorney is needed to flesh out a foreign national’s claims that prison staff in Illinois unconstitutionally blocked his attempts to contact a criminal defense attorney and his country’s embassy, the Seventh Circuit said Nov. 8.

The trial court dismissed the pro se suit lodged against staff at the federal penitentiary in Marion, Ill., in February.
