PNC’s Old Pay Plan for Loan Officers Found to Violate State Law

A class of mortgage loan officers suing PNC Bank NA won summary judgment on a central question after a federal judge in California decided the bank’s old compensation plan failed to pay them for rest periods in accordance with state law.

Chief Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California also partly granted on Monday the plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment on questions related to the effect of two prior PNC class settlements involving compensation-related claims, deciding that one barred some claims, while the other barred none.
